Sounds from the schoolroom

I'm totally sick, but trying to get through this massive editing project to make today's deadline.

Meanwhile, what sound do I hear streaming from the schoolroom (i.e. den) into my little corner office? The happy sound of children laughing? The joyous roar of a board game? The buzzy chatter of an educational program?

Nope. I hear this.

It's a classy sort of education we're giving our children apparently.

There are things that our kids say and do, and DH just looks at me and said "What are you teaching them?" As if to say it's "my fault". Of course DH knows better and he never would say anything in front of other people, it's really just our inside joke and way of saying "I can't believe that they would say or do this" LOL One of the most recent example would be my DD telling DH that he can't pull loose teeth because he would kill them! LOL The joys of raising kids!!!

No education is complete without a solid grounding in the classics! :D

Gillian was totally in love with Simon LeBon when she was about 6 or 7. (Pete had a DVD of Duran Duran's greatest video hits, and they used to watch the one for "New Moon on Monday" over and over.) She was a bit disappointed when she saw a current clip of him and he was all middle-aged and wrinkly. LOL

What I'm Reading

What I\
"The Knife Man: Blood, Body Snatching, and the Birth of Modern Surgery" It's nonfiction but written in such an engaging narrative that it's a definite page-turner. The author is very descriptive in the handling of surgeries, dissections and experiments, so it's not for the faint of heart.
